Installing Nvidia driver and activating Beryl during a LiveCD session

AIGLX and Beryl are accessed after the Dreamlinux installation on HD, after installed the correct drivers for the graphic card.

Here you will see how to install the driver for a Nvidia card and activate the Beryl-AIGLX effects even before the installation,
that means, on LiveCD mode.

1) First, boot normally with Dreamlinux GL Edition CD, , make a connection with the internet. Then open the terminal and type:

sudo passwd morph

Put a new password for morph user.









2) After that, on the terminal yet, type:

sudo init 3

 

 

The graphic mode will be closed and you will be on the screen in text mode.

3) Type the name of "morph" user and the password:




4) Then type nvidia-install

 







Wait for the system download the driver.
The driver installation will be automatically made. This operation can take a long time, it depends on the connection speed.
Don't do anything, just wait. After the installation done, the graphic mode will open again and you will have the login
screen (gdm). Enter with the morph name and password.



 

5) With the graphic environment opened, open terminal again and type:

sudo ativar-beryl.rb

Choose "Enable-Beryl" and press, at the same time, the keys Control+Alt+Backspace.


 

6) You will see the login screen again. One more time, enter with "morph" name and click on Sessions bottom.
Choose "Beryl/GL Session" and "Change Session".



If all works fine, the graphic mode will be started with the Beryl manager.
